Occupational Health Advisor – London - 12 Month Contract (2 days per week)
Job Purpose
To work with the FT in improving and maintaining the health of our employees by providing a proactive Occupational Health & WellbeingService. 
Working closely with the HR team to capture relevant data to support the Health & Wellbeing agenda and to develop the capability of managers to deal effectively with Occupational Health issues, including assisting in a large-scale office move in the UK. 
Main Duties and Responsibilities
●         Management of the FT’s Occupational Health service(excluding physio services).
●         Provide expert guidance and support the development and implementation of an FT Health & Wellbeing Strategy.
●         Work closely with management teams, physio, HRand Health & Safety representativesto identify OH issues and improve the health of employees.
●         Help identify health problems and fitness for work issues at an early stage.
●         Provide ergonomic assessment and advice in partnership with the on-site physiotherapist.
●         Provide travel health advice and details of vaccination requirements.
●         Formulate rehabilitation programmes/return to work strategies.
●         Provide an emergency appointment service when on site.
●         Provide night worker health and print site worker screening as per HSE requirements.
●         Use expertise to recommend when a referral to the Occupational Health Physician might be appropriate.
●         Monitor health during pregnancy.
●         Monitor trends in referrals and establish useful data collation in conjunction with the HR Manager.
●         Maintain health records securely and in line with FT GDPR standards.
●         Take a proactive role during the UK office move, ensuring appropriate support mechanisms are in place andthat any potential impact to employees health has been considered and where appropriate flagged with the HR Manager.
●         Provide regular statistics about service usage, as agreed with the HR Manager.
Qualifications / Competencies / Skills / Experience
●        Registered with general Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
●        Occupational Health Specialist qualification.
●        Travel Health training.
●        Understanding work related illness.
●        Knowledge of Health & Safety law.
●        Knowledge of workplace ergonomics.
●        Excellent communication skills.
●        Demonstrable understanding of physical and mental illness.
●        Constructive, whilst also demonstrating empathy and understanding.
●        Investigative techniques to help pinpoint accident causes.
●        Commercial awareness.
●        Interpersonal skills.
●        Data analytics.
●        Health promotion skills.
●        Knowledge of agencies able to help and support employees.
●        Demonstrable experienceworking ina multi-disciplined Company or industry.
●        Evidence of recent continuous professional development.
