Mental Health Nurses are responsible for providing support and nursing care to people who have a range of mental health issues.
What will they do?
• Assess and plan nursing care requirements.
• Organise workloads and administer medication. • Agree and review care plans and monitor progress.
• Liaise with doctors, social workers and other professionals and support them with writing reports and updating patient records on a regular basis.
• Update senior professionals of any changes to patients’ circumstances.
• Encourage patients to take part in therapeutic activities.
• Provide evidence-based individual therapy, such as cognitive behavior therapy for depression and anxiety.
Role requirements:
• Degree in Nursing and registered as a mental health nurse
• Registered with the NMC and valid live pin
• Prison clearance
