- Mental Health Nurses are responsible for providing support and nursing care to people who have a range of mental health issues. What will they do?• Assess and plan nursing care requirements.• Organise workloads and administer medication. • Agree and review care plans and monitor progress.• Liaise with doctors, social workers and other professionals and support them with writing reports and updating patient records on a regular basis.• Update senior professionals of any changes to patients’ circumstances.• Encourage patients to take part in therapeutic activities.• Provide evidence-based individual therapy, such as cognitive behavior therapy for depression and anxiety.Role requirements:• Degree in Nursing and registered as a mental health nurse• Registered with the NMC and valid live pin• Prison clearance
