Health and Safety Advisor 

Health and Safety Advisors work to promote a positive attitude towards a health and safety culture. 
What will they do? 
• Ensure employees comply with safety regulations and current legislation, policies and procedures are adhered to, and monitor regularly. • Plan, implement and review protective and preventative safety measures. 
• Carry out inspections, risk assessments, operational procedures, safety and health changes, and implement in-house training. 
• Carry out risk assessments with site inspectors, identifying potential hazards and looking at ways to reduce risks. 
• Investigate health-related complaints and causes of ill health at work. 
• Record all incidents and accidents and follow through procedures correctly. 
• Liaise with external health and safety authorities and continue to train and develop themselves to keep up with changes and business needs.
 • Take responsibility for safety equipment, ensuring it’s installed correctly and checked regularly. 
• Take responsibility for fire safety, monitoring hazards (e.g. chemicals), noise, safeguarding of machinery and occupational diseases. 
Role requirements: 
• Degree, preferably in Occupational Health, Maths or Science 
• Institute of Occupational Safety and Health qualification 
• National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health qualification
