Occupational Health Nurse - Occupational Health Nurses protect and promote the health of people at work.
What will they do?
• Develop and implement health and safety programmes. These are disease prevention programmes, such as smoking cessation, exercise, and healthy eating programmes.
• Document all employee injuries and illnesses within the workplace and identify and prevent work-related health problems. This might be achieved in a range of ways:
• Promoting healthy living and working conditions
• Understanding the effects of work on health
• Providing advice on first aid management
• Providing health screening services for the workforce
• Monitoring workplaces that may require health needs assessments.
• Take responsibility for education, training, counselling and supporting travel health.
Role requirements:
• Degree in Nursing (RGN)
• Registered with the NMC and valid live pin
• Worked in the occupation health field for 5 years
• Significant experience as a nurse
• Preferred: SCPHN – Specialist Community Public Health Nursing
