Role purpose
To provide specialist input to the location Management Team, Employees and to contribute professionally as appropriate to the UK Health Services team
To advise on all aspects regarding the impact of employee health on work, and work on health.
To ensure compliance with health related legislation and Company policies / standards.
To adhere at all times to Professional and Ethical Codes of Conduct and Kimberly-Clark Standards.
To provide advice on health and wellness issues which have work impact and to be actively involved in the development and implementation of health related programmes and policies.
To plan and deliver health programmes and initiatives which have sound legal, clinical and business rationale.
To align health management activities with Company objectives.
Principal accountabilities
1 To provide business aligned, cost effective Occupational Health Services. 2 To meet Kimberly-Clarks management expectations of effective communication, high standards of Occupational Health and Wellness practice and meaningful advice. 3 To undertake the appropriate range of fitness for work assessments, based on health risk assessment, during employment and at cessation of employment and to ensure the provision of objective practical advice to the employee and to the Company, whilst at all time maintaining Medical Confidentiality. These activities must be aligned to country specific legislation and K-C corporate standards. 4
To ensure the implementation of health related policies, procedures and standard operating instructions, in collaboration with the Kimberly-Clark Health Services team both locally and Corporately. 5 To fully understand the operation of the site – the plant, office environment, processes, materials, products and employee roles, and how this potentially impacts on health. 6 To identify potential health hazards, participate in the assessment and control of risk and undertake relevant health surveillance programmes in line with local country legislation and K-C Corporate standards.
7 To be familiar with and to advise appropriately on the potential health impact of physical, chemical, biological and psychological hazards.

To assist in the implementation of health related policies, procedures and standard operating instructions.
9 To participate appropriately in agreed KC global Health and Wellness projects.
11 To adhere at all times to sound professional, clinical, ethical and legal practices.
12 To maintain client confidentially and employee health records consistent with legislative, professional and internal Kimberly Clark standards.
13 To maintain clear records of clinical interactions, and provide quality verbal and written reports (with full regard of confidentiality issues).
14 To liaise closely with the site Physician on programme implementation, Health Surveillance results, Ill Health Retirement cases, and externally reported occupational illness. To ensure appropriate clinical referrals are made to the Site Physician.
15 To support and implement KC Health Services (Europe) OH programmes and standards.
16 To participate in health compliance reviews of local programmes / service delivery.
17 To inspire a culture of health and wellness, and demonstrate its impact on performance and productivity.
18 To liaise with employees’ personal physicians and specialists when necessary to effectively manage cases.

To support the health aspects of site emergency planning activities, and to support crisis management activities.

To collate and provide aggregated, anonymous data on health screening programmes and Occupational Health Activity in line with Country legislation and K-C standards.
21 To act as Occupational Health facilitator, mentor, coach and health adviser to all internal K-C customers at the designated location.
22 To provide health promotion and wellness education initiatives which are appropriate to the local site requirements.
23 To undertake / assist with clinical examinations in line with specific Country Legislation and within Kimberly-Clark standard protocols.
24 To develop current knowledge base and develop professional competency by ensuring all required professional development requirement needs are met

Experience and Skills
The incumbent should be on the first and third parts of the professional Nursing Register (UK – Public Health Specialist)) or country specific equivalent, and hold a second level professional qualification in Occupational Health Nursing – appropriate to the Country. They will have at least 3 years experience, preferably in a variety of organisations / companies. The position requires the ability to function well as part of a team as well as the ability to work independently. The role demands energy and innovativeness. Good analytical skills are required, including the ability to identify health trends. The position requires good organisational ability with great attention to detail. The person must be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise and multi – skill. Excellent skills of influencing and communication are necessary. There is a requirement for strong internal customer interface and a demonstration of business alignment. Developing a thorough understanding of the K-C culture and of internal and external health care systems will be essential.
