Job Type: Permanent
Location: College Lane, Hatfield
Department: Office of the Vice Chancellor, Occupational Health
Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 1.0 FTE (37 hours per week)
Salary: UH8 £44,263pa to £51,283pa (with potential to progress to £56,021pa)

The University of Hertfordshire, a leading employer in the region, seeks an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join as Senior OH Advisor and Nurse Team Lead. This role involves operational management of the Occupational Health (OH) service, supporting the Head of OH, and overseeing a team of OH Nurses.Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive OH services to university employees and students.
- Lead and manage a team of OH Nurses in service delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including HR and health & safety teams.
- Deputize for the Head of OH as required.
Duties:
- Conduct OH clinics for staff and students, advising on fitness for job roles/study.
- Manage OH Nurses, providing guidance and support.
- Assist in recruitment and skill mix review within the OH department.
- Generate data for reports, audits, and surveys.
- Maintain professional links and standards within OH practice.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Significant practice experience in Occupational Health.
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with Part 1 NMC registration.
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing or relevant experience.
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work autonomously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of workplace health, safety, and wellbeing issues.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with NMC.
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing or relevant experience.
- Desirable: Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – OH registration.
